We’re looking for a treasurer to join our Board of Trustees here at Centre4. This role will play a vital role in strengthening the organisation to support communities across North East Lincolnshire.
As a Treasurer, you’ll use your skills, experience and insight to help guide our organisation – supporting our leadership, shaping strategy, and ensuring we continue to deliver meaningful impact for the people we serve.

The role of a Treasurer
As Treasurer, you will take a lead role in overseeing the financial governance of Centre4, working closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Finance and Board of Trustees.
You will help ensure the organisation is well-run, financially sustainable, and delivering against its mission – while providing both support and constructive challenge.
The Board holds collective responsibility for the organisation, focusing on long-term strategy rather than day-to-day operations.
Strategic contribution
- Contribute to long-term financial sustainability and growth
- Support decision-making on income generation and investment
- Provide insight to inform strategic planning and resource allocation
Working with leadership
- Work closely with the Chief Executive and senior team on financial matters
- Provide constructive support and challenge where appropriate
- Maintain clear boundaries between governance and operational delivery
Wider trustee responsibilities
- Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making
- Act as an ambassador for Centre4
- Support good governance and compliance across the organisation
Time Commitment
- Around 4–8 hours per month on average, with potential to attend further sub groups.
- 6 Board meetings per year, held at Centre4, Wootton Road, Grimsby
- 4 Finance sub-committee meetings per year
- 1 annual Board Away Day
- Chair our finance sub-committee
Terms of office
Initial 4-year term, with the option to renew (up to a maximum of 12 years)
This is a voluntary role, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
As a Trustee, you will also take on the legal responsibilities of both a charity trustee and a company director.
