New café and warm space opens within Centre4 in Grimsby
14 January 2025
A new community space aimed at bringing people together in a warm, friendly and welcoming environment has opened at Centre4 in Grimsby.
Situated within the Wootton Road community centre, Café Connect is a cosy space in which anyone is welcome to enjoy hot and cold refreshments at incredibly reasonable prices – although there is no obligation to make a purchase.
Drinks prices start at just £1, with customers who have a Community Shop card benefiting from discounted prices.
Callum Johnson, Marketing and Communications Lead at Centre4, said: “We created Café Connect as a place for people to come together, find support, and feel part of a community. We encourage everyone to pop in, enjoy a warm drink, and see what we’re all about.
“At Café Connect, there’s no obligation to make a purchase, although affordable drinks starting at just £1 are available for those who wish. The aim is simple: to create a space where everyone feels at home, regardless of their circumstances.”
As the colder months take hold and the cost of living crisis continues to challenge many residents in the area, Centre4 has also been nominated as a warm space by North East Lincolnshire Council.
Callum continued: “This initiative supports people in reducing energy bills at home and combating social isolation. Café Connect plays a vital role in this effort, offering not only a warm and inviting environment but also activities like board games to encourage connection. Visitors will also find a friendly community of regulars to chat with, making it a perfect place to spend time this winter.”
