Amazing progress being made on £2.8m youth centre

13 January 2025

Work to create the Centre4Youth facility at Centre4 began back in May. Funded by £2.8 million of government money, the centre will provide services and activities for thousands of young people aged 11-18, both in Nunsthorpe and across the region.

At the opening ceremony earlier this year, director Phil Drinkwater said: “This is done with young people, not to them. It’s a joint effort. It will be something quite incredible when built, but it’s about so much more than bricks and mortar. This is about realising ambition, helping with life skills and confidence and building a bright future for the entire borough.”

In a recent update a spokesperson for Centre4 said they were “thrilled” to share the “amazing progress” being made on the build.

They continued: “Each step brings us closer to creating a fantastic space for our young community. Keep an eye out for more updates as this exciting project takes shape!”
